Hello there, my name is Paula and I own the Online Home, Gift & Lifestyle Boutique MabelandViolet.com based in Dublin, Ireland.
I created this blog to give you a small insight into the world of Mabel & Violet, so here you will find lots of things relating to our little online shop. However, I want to do more than merely keep you updated with new products and designers, so you will also find musings and ramblings on the subjects of interior design, DIY, modern design, furniture and all things vintage. I also occasionally blog about wedding style and fashion for the sheer girly love of it! Just so you know, I like to do things on a budget so most of my finds have a certain thrift element attached, although please forgive me for occasionally indulging my expensive taste from time to time.
Now that’s enough about me, what you really need to know is who are Mabel and Violet? Mabel & Violet were my husband’s great aunts, they were sisters who shared a cottage in the Irish countryside. Mabel worked in Weirs Jewellers for years and was passionate about jewellery and jewellery making, while Violet was a homemaker and she would sometimes run up cushions and curtains on her Singer sewing machine. They both seemed like such strong, likeable and thoroughly creative characters that I thought it only appropriate to name my online store after them. I’m told they would be proud!
