Bold Blogger

Dear oh dearie me, what sort of a blogger am I? A pretty bold one as it turns out. That’s “bold” in the Irish sense of the word, which means “bad” as opposed to “daring”. I am not a daring blogger, no. “Is blogger dána mé”, as we would say in our native tongue.
When one’s husband starts giving out to one for not blogging, one knows that something must really be out of kilter, especially when one’s husband disapproves of such things that normally eat into one’s personal time after work.
Likewise, when one’s friends start asking questions such as “Where have you been? How are we supposed to know what’s going on in your life if you’re not blogging” one must ask oneself, “Why don’t one’s friends just pick up the phone to chat to one?” HEL-LO! But also, on a more philosophical note, “Why hasn’t one been blogging lately?” or should that be “Why haven’t I been blogging lately?” All this third person stuff is far too complex for my little brain. The answer to that question still eludes me but I suppose I just got out of the habit and was quite enjoying the free time and then the more I didn’t blog, the easier it became not to blog. It’s a vicious circle but luckily for you peeps I’ve decided to get back in the game, so here I am.
I suppose it’s my own fault for starting this blogging thing in the first place. And there was me thinking that no-one ever read my blog anyway. At least now I know that my friends do, so when they’re not checking up on me on Facebook and Twitter they’re popping over here to see what I’ve been up to week in, week out. Hmmm. Next time I meet them I’ll prepare a little table quiz to test their “Meet Mabel & Violet” knowledge. They can only be considered real friends if they get at least 8/10 answers right. That’ll learn ‘em!

welcome back to the blogosphere..looking forward to your updates
Good to see you back. I know what you mean, it is easy to post when doing it regularly but I find if I stop for a week or so, it is so hard to get back into it.
I did have someone say to me once that I never rang them any more and I seemed to spend all my time on my blog etc, to which my ‘thought reply’ was – you can ring me and if you want to find out what is going on, read my blog!!
Plus I find that most of my friends don’t necessarily want to talk about interior design and the latest fabric at 8.30pm whereas I can blog about it to my heart’s content
Oh, don’t I know… Is there such a thing as blogophobia? We should form a support group!
Thanks girls, and Angela, when is our first support group meeting?
Lorna, you’re absolutely right. I didn’t realise how much of a struggle it would be to get back into it. Although now that I have started again I’m really enjoying it. I think I just need to be in the right frame of mind. You should post that “thought reply” on your blog…I like it!
Marie, the daily blogger and Social Media Queen that you are I’m sure you don’t have this problem at all!
Good to have you back, but quit the moaning, blogging sure beats the nine to five grind:-)
Us mere mortals do understand how hard it is to sit down and write and particularly when we require, nay demand that your prose is witty, intelligent, interesting, relevant but worst of all for the poor blogger that it is personal.
We missed you while you were away, as you bring a little sunlight into our lives.
Great to have you back and have to say my day has been made. Heck, I may even start my post grad assignment tomorrow which is only two weeks late.
Toodle pips
Hey Paolo, how’s that assignment coming along? I’m so glad to hear that my ramblings are so good that you feel inspired to complete overdue college assignments on top of the daily grind, especially given the long day that you had yesterday!
Thanks for your support, from now on you are my blogging champion and you have my full permission to reprimand me if, for some reason that is not valid, my blogging efforts wane once more.
