Oh my, I have been a bit slack on the blogging front this week. Just dropping in to let you know about Talent For Haiti, which is a charity auction created by Eilis Boyle and Helen James to fundraise for the victims of the earthquake. Many designers have donated lots of goodies and there was an auction last week for a private concert with Glen Hansard and Mark Geary, what a pair of gents! Sadly, somebody else won that auction although there are lots of auctions still ongoing so click here to help a very worthy cause and get your mits on some of the spoils!

We have donated this Red Tigers Eye & Turquoise Necklace by Juvi Designs. The starting bid for this piece is €100 so it’s the perfect opportunity to try to get it for a fraction of the normal retail price, which is €175 on Mabel & Violet and over €200 in other shops. All proceeds (minus eBay and Paypal commission) will be donated to Medecins Sans Frontieres, an independent medical aid agency providing relief in Haiti.

Boy oh boy am I chuffed with this and all of our other recent magazine features. I’m working on getting them all up on the website but I just thought I’d pop some of them on the blog for now because I want to show off just a teensy weensy bit. I am very much in need of some new clothes at the moment but I can’t stand trawling the shops in search of things. I usually have a fair idea of what I’m looking for so I tend to search online rather than head into town or to Dundrum Shopping Centre. It’s funny actually, I could happily while away many hours in interior shops and markets but I’m useless when it comes to clothes shopping. So as usual I resorted to the trusty interweb and popped over to Asos last week to resolve my style fix and as always I thoroughly enjoyed the giddy Christmas feeling when my goodies arrived today.

Himself was less than impressed when I modelled my purchases and actually gave out to me for not spending more money – what a doll! He said that he would rather see me buying a really good quality item rather than a couple of cheap (no offense Asos) items of clothing and I suppose he does have a point but, like everyone at the moment, we’re watching the pennies and I’ll get much more wear out of three tops than one!

I just love this blouse – the doggy pattern, the pussy bow, the capped sleeves, it has it all. I’m thinking that this Tibetan Turquoise necklace from Juvi Designs will really set it off.

Thanks to James and Shawna, a husband and wife team of wedding photographers, collectively known as AAA Photos. They were great to work with and followed us around all day snapping away without making us feel uncomfortable or remotely like we were being papped!
